What are AHAs and what do they do for skin?
AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) are fruit-derived acids that dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells to gently remove them — no scrubbing needed. In glow-berry jelly™, they're dosed at 3.5% for effective yet well-tolerated chemical exfoliation. The result: smoother skin, more even tone, and refined texture from the first use.
What is the difference between chemical and physical exfoliation?
A chemical exfoliant (like AHAs) works through chemical action to dissolve dead skin cells — no friction needed. A physical exfoliant (like the cranberry seeds in this mask) removes them through gentle mechanical action. glow-berry jelly™ combines both for complete exfoliation: AHAs dissolve, cranberry seeds polish the surface. Dual action, smooth skin.
How often should you use the peel-off mask and can you over-exfoliate?
1 to 2 times per week — no more. Over-exfoliating is one of the most common skincare mistakes: too much exfoliation weakens the skin barrier and can cause redness and hypersensitivity. Start once a week, then move to twice if your skin tolerates it well. Always follow with a moisturizer and apply sunscreen the next morning.
Should you use the peel-off mask before or after cleansing?
After — always. Your cleanser removes makeup, sebum, and surface impurities first so the AHAs can work directly on clean skin without any barrier. Apply glow-berry jelly™ to clean, dry skin, leave on for 10 minutes, then remove. Follow with your serum and moisturizer to lock in the benefits.
Does the peel-off mask reduce blackheads?
Yes — that's one of the effects of 3.5% AHAs. By dissolving the dead skin cells that clog pores and refining skin texture, AHAs help visibly reduce the appearance of blackheads with regular use. For best results, pair glow-berry jelly™ with the cleanjourney niacinamide serum — the two cosmetic actives work together for visibly clearer-looking skin.
